Texas Trip

Josiah and I recently returned from a great family trip to Texas! Adam was in New Orleans on a mission trip with the middle schoolers; they had a wonderful trip, but Adam was missed by all!

Josiah took his first plane ride from NC to TX. I was so thankful my parents were flying with me; it made it a lot easier to keep my busy one year old entertained and happy! He was a great traveler, though he didn't sleep much! But, the plane ride was nothing compared to the 10 hour car trip the next day from Arlington to McAllen (where my dad's family lives). I must say, Josiah was a trooper, and his uncles were great entertainers. We learned to make a game out of everything, to offer crackers and juice often, and when all else failed - watch Baby Einstein on the laptop!

Once in the valley, we had such a good time with family. Josiah is in a "guy stage", so I must apologize to his grandmothers and aunts that he automatically gravitated towards the males in the family. He especially enjoyed playing with Uncle Bruce - they were instant friends!

The boy loves computers and cell phones - anything with buttons, actually!

Thomas had the opportunity to photograph a wedding in St. Thomas (rough, I know), so he had to leave a couple of days early. I'm not sure who enjoyed who more!

We went to a park, and Josiah loved climbing up the slides ALL BY HIMSELF and then sliding down, only to do it over and over again.

It was so great to see my brothers - we hadn't seen each other since Christmas.

The night before we flew home, Josiah decided to just take off - he was walking everywhere, taking about 20-25 steps at a time!
